Galena's Eagle Ridge Resort hosts "Wine Lovers' Weekend" for oenophiles

In the mood for a weekend getaway? How about one where you'll be surrounded by wine? Now that we have your attention, read on for details about Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa's "Wine Lovers' Weekend," three days of vino, gourmet food and other festivities at this scenic Galena property, located about 150 miles west of downtown.

From Friday, March 27 through Sunday, March 29, Eagle Ridge will host heavy hitters from the wine industry for grape-centric events, including representatives from Rutherford Wine Company in Napa Valley, The Crossings in New Zealand and Pierre Sparr in Alsace, France. Featured events of the weekend include a Unibroue Craft Brew Tasting (see, it's not all vino), a Grand Tasting, a New Zealand wine dinner, an Alsatian cuisine luncheon and Cremant d'Alsace brunch, along with various wine education seminars.

And, if you happen to have some teetotalers (or kids) in your group, direct them to Eagle Ridge's four golf courses, the Stonedrift Spa or the indoor pool, because you're gonna be busy. Packages for Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa's "Wine Lovers' Weekend" start at $489 per person (for accommodations for two nights, sponsored meals and tastings). Guests can also choose to attend various single events (prices range from $10 for tastings to $135 for the "Fit for a King" dinner), or to attend all of the events without overnight lodging ($350 per person).
