Norwegian researchers say the holidays make us more proactive about our health.
They sent colonoscopy invitations to over 20 thousand adults aged 50 to 64. And they found that attendance was highest around holidays birthdays.
They think yearly milestones remind us we're getting older... and give us a sort of kick in the pants to check our health.
Age is the main risk factor for colorectal cancer. The American Cancer Society suggests regular screenings for people age 50 and older.
