Get Fresh With Your Honey This Valentine's Day

River North's Farmerie 58 offers a five-course, farm-centric menu for V-Day

Looking to get fresh this Valentine's Day? Not like that, pervy. We're talking about farm-fresh, as in the seasonal, sustainable cuisine featured at the new River North resto Farmerie 58. This Valentine's Day weekend -- from Thursday, Feb. 12 through Sunday, Feb. 15 -- Farmerie 58 will serve up an affordable prix-fixe menu showcasing the restaurant's farm-centric focus for $39 per person.

Farmerie 58 executive chef Nathan Kosakowski's Valentine's Day menu incorporates some romantic, special occasion classics. The five-course menu begins with an amuse-bouche of baked oyster and continues with an appetizer (lobster ravioli with olive oil confit, cherry tomato and sauce rose), a salad (heart of palm, artichoke, avocado, toasted almond and mesclun in a tarragon vinaigrette), an entree (veal breast roulade with asparagus, wild mushroom barley risotto, roasted onion and a veal-currant sauce) and ends on a sweet note with a trio of chocolate strawberries draped in a raspberry reduction. Diners can also opt to order these courses a la carte, and Farmerie 58 will also be serving its regular dinner menu throughout the weekend, as well.
