Stocks are down. Home sales are down. And now, air traffic is down too.
The Federal Aviation Administration released data today showing traffic at O'Hare International Airport has hit a 15-year low. Review data here.
After peaking in 2004 with over 992,000 takeoffs and landings, O'Hare saw only 881,566 operations in 2008. That's a near-5% decline over 2007.
Things were no better at Chicago's Midway Airport. Midway also hit its peak in 2004. But last year, the airport saw only 266,341 operations, a decline of 12.6% over 2007.
