Father Greeley Goes Home

Novelist recovering from November fall

Best-selling novelist and newspaper columnist the Rev. Andrew Greeley has been released from the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, several months after he fell and suffered a head injury.

An update posted on Greeley's Web site Thursday says the 80-year-old priest has returned home and will continue intensive therapy for traumatic brain injury.

Greeley fell and hit his head while exiting a cab on Nov. 7. The injury caused bleeding on the brain, and he had been hospitalized ever since.

Greeley has written more than 50 novels, including many international mystery thrillers. His weekly column in the Chicago Sun-Times explores the relationship between religion and politic.
