A new River North eatery offers a new take on contemporary American cuisine.
Farmerie 58 (58 E. Ontario), takes over the space formerly occupied by Republic, and is designed to showcase farmed-centric sustainable ingredients.
But this isn't your typical meat and potatoes fare. Farmerie 58 also features a raw bar, which includes oysters, fresh seafood, and sushi.
"The creation of Farmerie 58 stemmed from our belief in the importance of sustainable, farmed cuisine, while highlighting our history and experience with raw bars and sushi," owner Sandy Yu says.
The restaurant features seating for 50 on the main floor with a circular wooden bar with room for 25 while the second story dining room seats 150.
The restaurant is touting a power lunch pre-fixe menu ($18.50 for two-course meal or a $22.50 three-course meal) and a small bites menu available from 5 p.m. until close.
