MLS No. 1 Pick Steve Zakuani Takes Time to Talk with FanHouse

The MLS held its annual SuperDraft Thursday in St. Louis. Expansion club Seattle Sounders FC made Steve Zakuani the league's No. 1 overall pick.

Zakuani, who was born in Zaire (now the DR Congo) and raised in London, scored 20 goals with the University of Akron this season. His older broth Gabriel Zakuani currently plays with Peterborough United in England's League One.

Only a few minutes after he was selected, FanHouse was fortunate to be able to speak with Zakuani via conference call about his reaction to being the first pick in franchise history, why he chose to play in MLS, and which nation he'd prefer to represent internationally.
