Doing Lines: Bosh Wins the Battle, Howard Wins the Game

Chris Bosh and Dwight Howard
Every night there are some stupendous, silly, stupid, or downright outlandish individual lines from around the lig. Doing Lines lets you know which one tops the list.

Of course, Howard got the last laugh -- the Magic won 103-90 -- but it's not everyday that an opposing big man makes Superman (18 points, nine boards) look like a mere mortal.

Take Three-Pointers and Call Me Tony Morrow: Just in case you figured Anthony Morrow was a flash in the pan, the undrafted rookie followed his 37-point explosion on Saturday with 25 more points last night against the Blazers. He's been on fire from beyond the three-point line, connecting on four more three-pointers and combining to hit 8-for-10 in the last two games.

In fact, he's shooting better from outside the arc (64.7%) than in (61.7%), not to mention a perfect 10-for-10 at the stripe. Obviously he's going to cool down at some point (he's been in the rotation for all of five games), but Golden State's system is built for shooters without a conscious, and right now that describes him perfectly.

First of Many: Morrow's Warriors got the best of Greg Oden and the Blazers, but it wasn't for lack of trying on Oden's part: the Big Chill tallied his best game yet as a pro, topping 20 and 10 for the first time in his career, finishing with 22 points (8-12 FG), 10 boards and two blocks in 30 minutes.

At some point this type of performance will become commonplace, at which point we'll start taking him for granted and ignoring him, much like we're doing to Derrick Rose (25 points, nine assists in a loss to the Lakers) right now.
