Ed, Jillian Counsel “The Bachelor” on Premiere

A surprise is promised from the couple, too

The "Bachelor" is getting a little help from the "Bachelorette." And her fiance.

What a difference a season makes.

The latest "Bachelor," pilot Jake Pavelka, has to trim the group of lovely lady bachelorettes from 25 to 10 on the season premiere of the uber-cheesy titled "The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love."  And in a sharp cheddar-style twist, Chicago's own still-engaged couple from last season's "Bachelorette," Jillian Harris and Ed Swiderski, are there to advice the man she dumped.

"I appreciate your coming in all the way from Chicago to help me out, " Pavelka tells the couple. "I have such a tough decision to make. I honest to God don't know what I am going to do. I don't want to hurt anybody's feelings, but I feel a connection with so many girls."

"We are here to help," Jillian responds. "What you need to remember is: Which one of them can you picture growing old with? Which one of them is the one you can be with in your sweats, unshaven and with bad breath in the morning?"

WARNING: Do not hold your breath about this decision. The premiere doesn't happen until January 4th at 8 p.m. on ABC.

Oh, and Ed, Jillian and "The Bachelor" promise another surprise.
