Drink the Wine Dude’s Vino

Plus, Chicago Improv and Hot Chip

WINE ROCKS: Many winemakers are serious, staid-looking conservative folks who look like they spend the majority of their time in the fields with their grapes. Sure, that's a stereotype, but whether it's true or not, we can all agree that you don't see a lot of winemakers like Charles Smith, a biker-looking dude with big hair and an attitude to match. The former manager of Scandinavian rock bands will be featured tonight at Rockit Wrigleyville's weekly Taste It series, showcasing lines from his K Vitners and Magnificent Wine Company. Wine rocks, especially when it's half-price like tonight. 7 p.m., 3700 N Clark St, NO COVER

THINK FUNNY FAST: Watch performers think fast on their feet at the 13th annual Chicago Improv Festival which kicked off Monday and continues through April 25th at the iO Del Close Theater and various locations throughout the city. More than 70 local, national and international troupes are expected to perform. 8 p.m., $5-$20 FULL SCHEDULE

BRIT POP: Popular U.K. electro-rock quintet Hot Chip is known for its live performances, so see what the hype is all about for yourself by checking them out at the Riviera Theater tonight where they're sure to play plenty of cuts from their latest CD, "One Life Stand." London's The xx opens. 8 p.m., 4746 N Racine Ave, $29
