Dogs on the Run

Dogsled show features huskies

With the Artic grip that Mother Nature has held on the Midwest this winter, it's only fitting that an upcoming event will feature Siberian husky sled dogs.

The Dogsled Spectacular will be held Jan. 24 and 25 from 11 a.m. at The Morton Arboretum in Lisle.

The event features demonstrations of the huskies pulling sleds, plus, "skijoring," where the dogs pull a person on cross country skis.

After the demonstrations, guests will be invited to get up close and personal with the animals and can even apply to adopt a husky.

Complimentary tickets will be available at Morton Arboretum's Visitor Center an hour prior to each demonstration, which will be held in the Administration Building. Demonstrations will be held at 12, 1:30 and 3 p.m.

The Morton Arboretum is 1,700-acre outdoor museum with collections of 4,117 kinds of trees, shrubs, and other plants from around the world.
