MAKE WAY FOR THE HOMO SUPERIOR: David Bowie celebrates his 63rd  birthday this week (Jan. 8), and Chicagoist's Tankboy spins a special set at The Burlington in honor of the birthday boy. It promises to be a great night for Bowie fans, as Tankboy promises to play anything remotely related to the glam rocker. 3425 W. Fullerton Ave.; Logan Square. 10 p.m.

SECRET MOVIE: Lincoln Hall screens a free showing of The Big Lebowski, but it can't say so on its website due to "copyright regulations." Though, the $3 White Russian drink special is a dead giveaway. 2424 N. Lincoln Ave.; Lincoln Park. 7 p.m. Free. 18 and older.

SOUP WEATHER: The Hideout's Soup And Bread series kicks off 2010 with a fundraiser for St. John Berchmans Food Pantry. While the soup is free, donations are encouraged. 1354 W. Wabansia Ave.; Noble Square. 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Free.
