Dark Knight Returns to IMAX, Secretly?

Warner Bros will re-release Batman movie next month

If you missed the opportunity to see The Dark Knight in IMAX, you'll get another chance next month... though you'd never know it from looking at Navy Pier's website.

Earlier this month, Warner Brothers announced in a press release that the blockbuster film would be returning to theatres and IMAX screens nationwide on January 23, 2009. The Dark Knight broke box office records, becoming the top-grossing film of 2008 and the second-highest grossing movie in the U.S. of all time.

However, while the Navy Pier IMAX Theatre schedule lists Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince—which won't be featured until July 2009—there is absolutely no mention of the epic movie that transformed Chicago into Gotham City. What's the deal?

Fortunately, despite the theatre website's omission, Chicagoist has confirmed that The Dark Knight will be showing at Navy Pier's IMAX Theatre on January 23.

Knight fans will be waiting with "bat"-ed breath.
