AAA's 2011 restaurant guide bestowed the highest Five Diamond rating on seven Chicago restaurants, the most of any state in the country. Nevada came in second with five.
Alinea, Arun’s, Avenues (Peninsula Hotel), Charlie Trotters, Everest, Seasons Restaurant (Four Seasons Hotel) and Tru were all repeats on the list, although no new Chicago restaurants were added this year.
Trump International Hotel & Tower and the Elysian were both added to the Five Diamond lodging guide, joining the Four Seasons and The Peninsula.
Only 124 lodgings and 55 restaurants in North America, Mexico and the Caribbean received AAA's highest rating.
The ratings are compiled during unannounced annual evaluations.
