Chicago Soldier Dies in Iraq

The Department of Defense says a 26-year-old soldier from Chicago has died following a bombing in Iraq.

Staff Sgt. Roberto Andrade Jr. died Sunday in Baghdad of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device struck his vehicle.

The Defense Department said Wednesday that Andrade was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 66th Armor, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Hood, which is located in Texas.

No other information was immediately available.
