Chicago-Based Broadway Play Pulls Storm of Cash

Daniel Craig, Hugh Jackman star in two-man play

Star power is helping the Broadway transfer of a Chicago-set play bring in big bucks.

"A Steady Rain" was in Chicago two years ago, but Daniel Craig (of Bond, James Bond fame) and Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) are starring in the Broadway version and pulled in a steady amount of cash during a preview week.

The show, set mostly in Uptown, grossed over $1.1 million for the week ending Sept. 20. The average ticket price was just $134, the Chicago Tribune reported.

The two-man, 90-minute drama "tells the story of two Chicago cops who are lifelong friends and whose differing accounts of a few harrowing days change their lives foreves," according to the Web site.

The show was written by Chicago's Keith Huff.
