Residents Refuse Treatment After West Side Fire

Fire at two-story building on the 4100 block of West Arthington Street started at around 6 a.m.

Two people refused treatment after they were seen being put into ambulances following a house fire on Chicago's west side.

Firefighters were called to the 4100 block of West Arthington Street, in the city's West Garfield Park neighborhood, at about 6 a.m.

Responding crews found flames on roof at the back side of the two-story building. Thick, dark smoke poured from a front window.

Firefighters struck out the fire by 6:30 a.m.
