Zach LaVine Joins Exclusive Bulls Club With Big Game

LaVine scored 33 points, but the Bulls fell to the Pistons Saturday night

The Chicago Bulls may have lost their second straight game on Saturday night, but Zach LaVine’s performance landed him in some incredibly elite company.

LaVine ended up leading all Bulls scorers with 33 points in the game, including a pair of three-pointers. It was his second straight 30-point game to open the season, and that accomplishment is remarkably rare for a Bulls player.

According to NBC Sports Chicago, LaVine is just the third player in Bulls history to open a season with back-to-back 30 point games, joining Bob Love, who accomplished the feat in 1971, and Michael Jordan, who did it in 1986.

Unfortunately for LaVine and company, the Bulls couldn’t mark the occasion with a victory, as they fell 118-116 in their home opener.
