BYOB of the Week: Glenn's Diner

Quirky and completely addictive, Glenn's Diner is one of the best restaurant options in Ravenswood. Owned by one of the original partners of the popular Davis Street Fish Market in Evanston, Glenn's offers an array of seafood options, along with diner-style classics, all-day breakfast items and more than 25 choices of cereal. We told you this place was quirky.

The cozy storefront space is decked in dark woods with a full wall of chalkboard specials and shelves lined with cereal boxes and other memorabilia. Neighborhood regulars fill the simple four-top tables day and night and order the "first-catch special" (a half-pound of fresh fish, roasted red potatoes, vegetables, a cup of soup and a small salad for $13.95), or come for the all-you-can-eat nights (Alaskan red king crab legs on Tuesdays, baby back ribs on Wednesdays and spicy or garlic shrimp on Thursdays).

While Glenn's Diner serves beer, wine and cocktails, the owners will also let you bring in your own booze (for a $5 fee for each bottle). BYOB-ers will want to stop at Fine Wine Brokers on Lincoln Avenue, where you'll find everything from a Marlborough sauvignon blanc for your fish dish to a hearty zin for your ribs. We're not sure what goes with cereal, though.
