Chicago's most notorious ex-cop on may have made a big mistake during a court appearance.

Earlier this week, former police commander Jon Burge went before a Florida judge, pleading the Fifth, but then talked extensively about why he shouldn't be forced to travel to Chciago to testify in the case of convicted murderer Cortez Brown.

The convict said policmen working for Burge beat him until he confessed to a crime he didn't commit.

Lawyers said that by speaking, Burge may have waived his right against self-incrimination.  The judge said Burge could be forced to return to the Windy City.
