Making Blago a Laughing Matter

We are in scary times in Illinois, and for corruption-weary residents it seem there is no safe haven.

For more than a month -- from The Daily Show to The Colbert Report to Saturday Night Live -- Illinois, or at least, the governor, has become the national joke.

And Illinois' loss has become the comic's big gain.

"I think politics is rich, and the term we use over and over is that we do social and political satire, and they're both always going to get big reactions from audiences," said Michael Patrick O'Brien, part of Chicago's famed Second City.

The accusations against Gov. Rod Blagojevich have made him a legitimate target by the comedy troupe.
