Blagojevich pal reportedly helped investigators get closer to governor

They're not saying what the governor said or how it impacts their investigation, but federal investigators secretly recorded Gov. Rod Blagojevich meeting with his inner circle, the Chicago Tribune reported Friday.

According to the published report, one of Blagojevich's closest confidents and former aides, John Wyma, cooperated with investigators in their ongoing look at possible corruption in the governor's office.

Blagojevich maintains that he's done nothing wrong, responding repeatedly to inquiring reporters, "The truth will set you free." Late Friday, the governor's office released the following statement in response to the Tribune story:
