Black Wednesday Parties: Part Deux

More bar and club events to make you late for Thanksgiving dinner

We reported last week on Black Wednesday (you know, Thanksgiving Eve) bar events taking place around town. If you need even more inspiration to head out on the biggest bar night of the year, here are a few more temptations.

If you're stuck in the suburbs with the fam this Thanksgiving Eve, round up a few of your old high school pals (the ones you've reconnected with on Facebook), and head to Stardust in Downers Grove. The club will be throwing "Turkey Jam 2008" from 8PM until 4AM with singer Chris Willis set to perform. Cover $20.

Back in the city, there's plenty going down for Black Wednesday. At NV Penthouse Lounge in River North, the Miami- and Chicago-based DVDJs will show off their brand of audiovisual performance art, including videos shown on four plasma screens set in time with the DJ-spun music. NV will also have a Belvedere vodka-hosted reception from 9-10:30PM. Cover $25 after 11PM.

In Lakeview, Sheffield's celebrates Thanksgiving Eve with a "Giving Tree," a raffle offering such coveted items as tickets to the Cubs opening day game, tickets to the Blackhawks' New Year's Day match at Wrigley Field, a comped holiday party for 10 friends at Sheffield's and two passes to Sheffield's New Year's Eve bash. Every time you buy a drink, you enter the raffle, so this is the time to buy a round for the table! 8PM, no cover.

In the always-happening Fulton Market District, Lumen is throwing its "Lights Out" Black Wednesday bash. The club, which is usually illuminated by creative lighting installations, will be turning off the lights for this second annual event. DJs Lo Pro and Whiteshadow will provide the beats, and Effen vodka will host a cocktail reception from 9-10PM. Cover $20; $10 if you RSVP to rsvp@lumen-chicago.com.
