Bid on Mixes at Rock for Kids Benefit

Rock for Kids is a Chicago-based charity responsible for putting on music classes for underserved and at-risk area kids. It's a great cause, run by some genuine (and genuinely well-connected) music fans. Tonight at Metro, Rock for Kids will hold their 9th annual Music Mixer from 6:00-10:00 p.m. Local musicians, labels, venues, writers, blogs, and just about anybody with any connection to the Chicago music scene have crafted a series of special mix CDs for the occasion, which they'll auction off tonight to benefit the organization's ongoing efforts. It's a great way to do something good and get some good new tunes besides. $10 will get you through the door, but once you check out the mixes from Feast pal Jon Langford, Braid's Bob Nanna and others, you'll regret leaving your checkbook in your other pants.
