Dozens Pitch Restaurant Ideas for Reality Show

Warrenville Chipotle site of NBC casting call this weekend

More than 200 wanna-be restauranteurs crowded a Warrenville Chipotle over the weekend to pitch their ideas for what they hope will be the nation's next big culinary craze.

A new NBC reality show -- America's Next Great Restaurant -- is currently in the middle of a cross-country casting tour, with creative and ambitious people making their first appearances in front of NBC officials.

The contestants' fate will be decided by a panel of real investors who fund the chain of restaurants with their own money.   Iron Chef America star Bobby Flay will serve as an investor, judge and mentor on the series.

Some of those lining up Sunday brought their ideas.  Others, like Arlington Heights' Leslie Meredith, went for motivation.

"I need the momentum to move it forward from this vague vision in my head to reality," she told the Daily Herald.

The casting tour continues to Mission, Kansas; Denver, Colo.; and Burbank, California.
