What has this world come to when an Italian restaurant can't stay open in Little Italy for longer than four months? Shocking news is that Aldino's, the trendy new project from Dean Zanella (formerly of 312 Chicago), has closed over the weekend. Zanella tells Vocalo's Steve Dolinsky the concept simply didn't pick up in the neighborhood: "Right concept in the wrong neighborhood [...] People in this area want eggplant parm and we were trying to do seasonal Italian food." Zanella's partner Scott Harris (Mia Francesca) plans to re-open the space as a new concept later in the summer, while Zanella is moving onto new opportunities. [Vocalo]
