A Room With a View

Find a restaurant with ambience for your next meal

You might have noticed something unusual lately.  The sun occasionally shines. How crazy is that? We get sun rises. And sunsets. The city is pretty again, as spring is – dare we say it -- finally here! Restaurants are rolling out their outdoor seating, and while we can hardly wait to dive into the alfresco scene, it can still be a tad too chilly for us to dine outside. We'll take a good view in the meantime. Here are a few of the great restaurants with a view and some tips on when to dine at each one to maximize the scenic potential.

Wave, 644 N. Lakeshore Dr. 312-255-4460. Stare out into the blue of Lake Michigan with a mid-day meal at this W Hotel restaurant.

Sixteen, 401 N. Wabash Ave. 312-588-8030. Dine at night to get the most of the twinkling lights of the city from the Trump Hotel's swanky newish restaurant.

Grand Lux Café, 600 N. Michigan Ave. 312-276-2500. Grab lunch on a weekend to get a good view of the hustle and bustle down the Magnificent Mile.

Flatwater, 321 N. Clark St. 312-644-0283. As traffic along the Chicago River picks up speed, snag a window seat to admire the views along the water.

Park Grill, 11 N. Michigan Ave. 312-521-7275. Day or night, take in a unique view of Millennium Park as you feast on their signature burger.
