It turned out to be much ado over next-to-nothing, this ongoing saga of the Lingerie Bowl, which was as on-again, off-again as the players' skimpy "uniforms." Alas, nothing could save the doomed display, which was to take place at a clothing-optional Florida resort and air during half time of the Super Bowl. Before you could say "the Chicago Bliss got robbed," the 2009 Lingerie Bowl went down in flames.
Enter "Beer, Brats and Bras," a good old-fashioned day of drinking, eating grilled meats and buying lingerie. That's as American as, well, "American Pie." On Sunday, Feb. 8 from 11AM-5PM, bring your bros to Isabella Fine Lingerie on Armitage Avenue for the first annual event, which will offer intrepid Valentine's Day shoppers incentive (the aforementioned beer and brats) and guidance (Isabella owner Lauren Amerine prides herself on an expert staff specializing in bra fittings, an extensive range of sizes and a well-edited selection of lingerie in a variety of price ranges). And, if your lady has shopped at Isabella before (the chances are good), the store will have her sizes and previous purchases on file, ensuring you don't make an embarrassing V-Day gaffe.
And for those guys who find themselves short on time, Isabella Fine Lingerie will offer extended hours (and more free beer!) from 5-8PM on Thursday, Feb. 12 and Friday, Feb. 13.
