8/19: Free Beer

Duchamp's free suds hump day party, plus a new bar for Sox fans

A WORK OF ART: RSVP for the launch party of "Wednesdays at Duchamp," a homage to hump day with gratis Heineken Lights (from 5-8 p.m.) and $5 Veev cocktails and St. Germain liqueurs along with chef Michael Taus' fine bar fare. 5-10 p.m., no cover 2118 N. Damen Ave., at Charleston; Bucktown; 773-235-6434

ONE-TWO PUNCH: Rocky's, a casual neighborhood sports bar replete with plasmas, a minimalist decor and a beer garden, has arrived in Bridgeport just in time for the post-game crowds to file in from the Cell, providing celebratory or comforting food and drinks, depending on how the Sox fared. The South Side Italian owners will be serving up tasty and inexpensive dishes like chicken Vesuvio, meatball sandwiches and pastas alongside eight beers on tap.
234 W. 31st St., at Wells; Bridgeport; 312-842-9200

MIXIN' IT UP: One of Chicago's rising resident mixologists, Zach Friedlander of Relax Lounge, is hosting a hot new Wednesday night party, "Mixin' it Right With Mr. Right," during which he will concoct a special cocktail ($9) from his weekly findings at the Green City Market. Sweetening the deal are $4 burgers, $5 Jameson shots and drafts of Stella, $6 Maker's Mark and 20 percent off all other cocktails. 1450 W. Chicago Ave., at Bishop; West Town; 312-666-6006
