One man was killed and three others injured in a crash in south suburban Lansing early Thursday, authorities said.

The crash took place at around 1 a.m. in the 18400 block of Stony Island Avenue, according to the Cook County sheriff's office.

One man was killed, officials said. The Cook County medical examiner's office identified him as 27-year-old Rameer Hodges, of Calumet City.

Three other men inside the same car, a 2009 Jaguar, were taken to area hospitals, according to the sheriff's office. Information on their injuries and conditions was not immediately available.

Further details, including what led to the crash, were not released.

Cook County sheriff's police, joined by the Illinois State Police, remained on the scene for several hours as they continued to investigate.

The area remained blocked off and closed to traffic, officials said.
