Groupon Employee Impresses On “The Voice”

Sam Cerniglia picks Blake Shelton's team on reality show

Sam Cerniglia had better get used to the Michael Buble comparisons.

It could be argued that Cerniglia, who works for Chicago's Groupon, looks a little bit like the superstar singer, but after his appearance on NBC's "The Voice" Tuesday night, you can definitely say he sounds like Buble.

It didn't hurt that Cerniglia sang Buble's "It’s A Beautiful Day" during his turn on the blind auditions portion of the reality show.

There was plenty of drama during Cerniglia song as both Blake Shelton and CeeLo Green waited until the very last moment to turn their chairs and fight for the right to have the singer on his team.

When it was all said and done, Cerniglia chose to go with Team Shelton, the winner of the previous three seasons of the show.

Cerniglia, a native of Fruitport, Mich., was excited to be picked by Shelton, but was even more thrilled to be re-tweeted by Buble after the show aired, saying "I don't know if I can handle the fact that you retweeted this. My mind just exploded!"

According to his web site, Cerniglia has a background in opera, jazz, blues, R&B, pop, indie and soul music.

After the blind auditions are finished, the singers will work with their individual coaches and square off against the other teams in the battle rounds.

And if things go according to his big dreams, Cerniglia may not have to worry about getting that Groupon discount in the future.
