Billy Joel Returns to Wrigley Field for Summer Concert

The August performance will mark the fourth time Billy Joel has played at the Cubs venue

Summer concert-goers can add another show to their list as the Piano Man announced his return to Wrigley Field this summer.

Billy Joel announced Thursday that he will perform at the Cubs venue for the fourth time on August 27. He last performed at Wrigley Field in July for his first solo performance in Chicago in seven years.

"Billy Joel will be the first artist to take the stage at iconic Wrigley Field four times -- more than any other artist in the history of Wrigley Field," Chicago Cubs Chairman Tom Ricketts said in a statement. "As we work to restore the heritage of this great ballpark, it is an honor to have the legendary Billy Joel become a part of our rich and celebrated history."

In honor of his record-setting performance, the Cubs are creating an original flag that will fly from 28 flagpoles on the Wrigley Field roof the day of the event.

Joel will not be the only artist to take the field this summer. Two days after Joel's concert, the Foo Fighters will play at Wrigley Field with special guests Cheap Trick, Naked Raygun and Urge Overkill.

Tickets for Joel's performance will go on sale for the general public on Jan. 24 at 10 a.m. American Express card members can purchase tickets early beginning Jan. 20 at 10 a.m., according to the Cubs website.
