Tony Hawk to Host First “Hall of Game Awards”

Pro skate border Tony Hawk is known for his death-defying stunts, but now he's going to try a new high-wire act and much like when he's shredding, he'll be operating without a net when he hosts the Cartoon Network's first-ever "Hall of Game Awards" show in February, reports the New York Daily News.

The new show, geared more toward a younger audience,  will honor sports stars and top athletic moments from the past year. Some of the categories include "He's Got Game," which will select a standout, individual performance from a group of stars that includes Drew Brees, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James and "My Bad" which will highlight the best sports blooper of the year.

Though Hawk said he's a bit afraid of hosting the event, he's ready to give it a go.

"I like a challenge," he told the Daily News. "I like to explore new things, and I feel like I'm capable of doing it."

He's most concerned with the live aspect of the show and how things could go off the rails.

"Anything live is scary," he said. "There are many other factors than just me. But as the host, for the most part if something goes awry, you're the one with the responsibility to bring it back together."

The concept for the show was created by IMG Meida and viewers will be able to vote for winners on the Cartoon Network's website.
