Lily Allen Taking a Break From Music

Lily Allen has announced she is taking a break from music.

After breaking down on stage in Finland, Lily Allen has announced she is taking a break from music.

She will be taking “one or two years off from recording and performing music” after her last gig in the Dizzee Rascal concert at the 02 (London) in March 2010, Allen told the BBC.

She says, “I’m just going to concentrate on doing some behind the scenes sort of stuff.”

Allen is eager to start her own record label and set up a fashion show with her sister.

Not only is she taking a break from music, but she's cutting of her use of the Internet.

“I’ve stopped everything, I haven’t got a computer and I haven’t got a blackberry. I don’t do emails or anything now,” Allen said.

She added, “I’ve decided to stop being so hypocritical and consume things and pay for them. I buy music in vinyl and buy newspapers. I support the industry I’m in.”

With her disconnect from the worldwide web, she describes herself as “a neo-luddite.”

Allen’s ambition in the fashion industry is to set up a rental fashion store called Lucy in Disguise with her sister.

“It’s about getting really nice clothes but letting people rent them for affordable prices so they can go out and feel like a million dollars and it won’t cost them a million dollars” Allen said.

As for the record company, the London singer wants to sign new bands. She explained, “I don’t want to compete with other record companies but I want to support new artists.”
