Jay-Z To Perform Live At American Music Awards In Los Angeles On November 22

Hip-hop icon Jay-Z will perform at the 2009 American Music Awards, Access Hollywood has learned.

This marks Jay's second time performing on the awards show. He will join the previously announced Alicia Keys in a special collaboration on "Empire State of Mind."

Jay-Z has been nominated in the Rap/Hip-Hop category six times — this year his nominations also include Favorite Male Artist and Favorite Album.

In order to appear live on Nov. 22 in Los Angeles, Jay-Z is rescheduling his performance that date in Austin, Texas.

"We are thrilled to have Jay-Z and Alicia Keys on stage together for the 2009 American Music Awards," show producer Larry Klein said in a statement to Access. "Both are such talented artists, it is sure to be a memorable performance."

The show will be broadcast live from the NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE on Sunday,, November 22 at 8 PM. on ABC. This year's AMA tickets and VIP ticket packages are now on sale at Ticketmaster.com.

Dick Clark Productions will also air a live digital pre-show hosted by Julie Moran from the 2009 American Music Awards red carpet available on ABC.com, USTREAM.com and mycokerewards.com and mycoke.com.

For the third year, winners will be determined by online voting at ama.abc.com, www.amavote.com and www.mycokerewards.com.

Artists will be honored in the categories of Pop/Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop, Soul/R&B, Alternative, Adult Contemporary, Latin and Contemporary Inspirational.
