‘Share a Tree': How to Help NBCUniversal and the Arbor Day Foundation Plant 25,000 Trees

This year's donations will go to a national forest in Oregon

NBCUniversal and the Arbor Day Foundation are partnering for the eighth year in a row for the annual "Share a Tree" campaign.

The campaign, formerly known as GIF't A Tree, is aimed part of NBCUNiversal's sustainability initiative and is aimed at planting new trees.

By visiting www.greenuniversal.com, viewers can create and share an animated holiday story, which will contribute to the foundation's tree-planting efforts, funded by a $25,000 donation from NBCUniversal. Viewers can also help share a tree with a national forest by using the hashtag #ShareATree.

Malheur National Forest in Oregon is the chosen beneficiary of the efforts. Over 66,000 acres of the forest were burned in the South Fork Complex Fire. The donation will sponsor 25,000 new trees. The campaign will run through Dec. 16.
