Traversing between your seaside estate in Malibu and your remote jungle compound in Costa Rica? Sounds exhausting.
Mel Gibson, who finds himself in this very rich people problems pickle, is parting ways with his tropical mega-mansion in Central America. The Oscar winner has listed his 400-acre retreat along the lush Nicoya Peninsula — complete with a private white-sand beach — for $29.7 million.
The estate named Playa Barrigona features three villas totaling 12 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms, enveloped by dense jungle terrain, towering mountains and miles of coastline. Each residence boasts air conditioning, barbecue areas and a swimming pool with views of the Pacific. According to the listing held by Christie's International Real Estate, olive ridley sea turtles swim thousands of miles to lay their eggs on the Playa Barrigona beach.
Gibson welcomed his ninth child, and first with girlfriend Rosalind Ross, in January. He also received an Oscar nomination for best director for "Hacksaw Ridge" — his first Academy Awards nomination since winning best picture and director for "Braveheart" in 1995.
