Kanye West on Beck's Grammy Win: ”He Should Have Given His Award to Beyoncé”

Kanye West's rushing the stage at the Grammys wasn't a joke after all, it seems.

Beck's "Morning Phase" was named Album of the Year, a category in which the now 44-year-old veteran of the alt-rock scene topped the likes of Pharrell, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and Beyoncé. And, to give everyone a dose of déjà vu, Yeezy went up to the stage, making everyone (including Jay Z and Bey) freak out about whether he was going to pull a "Kanye" again.

But when the rapper stopped by the E! After Party, he didn't hold back and made it clear that the antic was not just for fun. He said he thought that Beck should have given his award to Beyoncé.

"I don't know what he said, all I know is if the Grammys want real artists to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us. We ain't gonna play with them no more. 'Flawless,' Beyoncé video. Beck needs to respect artistry and he should have given his award to Beyoncé, and at this point, we tired of it," West said.

West's wife was also surprised Beyonce didn't win the award. Kim Kardashian Instagrammed a photo of her reaction along with John Legend and Chrissy Teigen.

Beck himself said he was shocked that Beyoncé didn't win the award.

"Absolutely I thought she was going to win," Beck said at a Universal Music Group after-party. "Come on! She's Beyoncé!"

Beck also said he wasn't offended by West's comments.

"You can't please everybody. I still love him and think he's genius," Beck told People. "I aspire to what he does. How many great records has he put out in the last five years, right?"
