Janet Jackson Confirms Separation From Husband, Plans to Resume Tour

Janet Jackson has confirmed a rumored split with her husband and says she plans to resume the world tour she called off more than a year ago during her pregnancy with her son, who was born in January.

Jackson says in a video posted on Twitter that she has separated from husband Wissam Al Mana. She says, "we are in court and the rest is in God's hands."

The 50-year-old singer has also announced a return to the road on Sept. 7, 18 months after postponing her "Unbreakable" tour.

The new "State of the World" tour is set for a 56-city run, and tickets for the previous "Unbreakable" tour events will be honored at the new dates.

Jackson "has taken the past year to enjoy pregnancy and motherhood, and is now ready to return to the live stage to give Janet fans everything they could hope for in one epic concert event," according to a press release from LiveNation.

"The 'State of the World' tour is a continuation of the 'Unbreakable' tour and will include fan favorites from her chart-topping ‘Unbreakable’ album, an array of her socially conscious music she’s released throughout her career, and other smash hits and soon-to-be released new tracks with a state of the art live production," the press release states.
