Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump is worse than Voldemort, according to "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling.
Rowling, the famed children's book author, took to Twitter to comment on Trump's proposed policy to ban Muslims from entry to the United States. Rowling's tweet, which received more than 100,000 retweets and likes as of Tuesday afternoon, was joined by a number of Twitter users comparing the "Dark Lord," the main antagonist in the "Harry Potter" series, to Trump.
"How horrible," Rowling tweeted. "Voldemort was nowhere near as bad."
Trump on Monday called for a "complete" shutdown of Muslims entering the U.S. as a national security measure until U.S. leaders "can figure out what is going on." The statement came one day after President Obama called in a national address for Americans "to reject religious tests" when admitting people into the country.
Other Republican and Democratic politicians have condemned the remarks.
Trump, asked in an interview on "Good Morning America" if recent comparisons to Adolf Hitler bothered him, said, "No."
His campaign has not commented on the comparison to fictional despotic wizard Voldemort.
