Brad Pitt Turns 50, Gets Mock AARP Cover

Happy Birthday, Brad Pitt!

The Academy-award nominated actor turns the big 5-0 today, and with six healthy children, an engagement to his partner Angelina Jolie and a wildly successful film career, mostly recently receiving critical acclaim for his historical drama "12 Years a Slave," it's safe to say the actor's life is going better than ever.

In October, the actor spoke about his swiftly approaching milestone birthday on Today, admitting he had no qualms over reaching his AARP-eligible status age.

"I haven't minded a bit," he said of turning 50. "I have no complaints."

While the AARP organization honored the stud with a special edition mock cover of AARP magazine (see below), Pitt, in reality, is looking better than most men half his age and it's no surprise, considering it's been a big year for Brad.

In June, the father of six hit a career milestone when World War Z premiered. Although the Pitt-produced zombie flick made headlines for production problems, Pitt pushed forward with the project, and the film debuted at No. 2 behind Monsters University, taking in $66.41 million--the largest opening weekend ever for the actor.

The heartthrob also proved he's an amazing partner to Jolie after he wholeheartedly supported the actress after she choose to undergo a preventative double mastectomy in February, calling her decision "heroic."

And turning 50 has also inspired the family man to focus more on the things in life that truly matter.

NEWS: Brad Pitt talks the importance of "12 Years a Slave"

"I've given a lot of thought to it," Pitt said back in November 2012 of the milestone bday. "You become very aware of time and also, being a father, everything is time allocation for me now, making sure I spend my time wisely and doing the things that are important to me and spending the time I need to with my family."

Which also means choosing meaningful projects, such as Pitt's "12 Years a Slave," which is already a big contender for this award season.

"It's one of those few films that cuts to the base of our humanity," the Hollywood megastar said of the film, which tells the story of a a freeman who's kidnapped in the years before the Civil War and sold into slavery. "[It's] why I got into film in the first place."

Looks like 50 may just be his best year yet.
