'Groundhog Day' Star Bill Murray Checks Out Broadway Musical on Consecutive Nights

So... just how long will Bill keep this up?

Talk about life imitating art. Or is it art imitating life?

On Tuesday, "Groundhog Day" star Bill Murray checked out the Broadway musical based on his 1993 hit comedy for the first time. And, in a classic case of Bill Murray being Bill Murray, the star showed up again on Wednesday for an encore viewing.

According to the New York Times, on Tuesday Murray was accompanied by his brother who played Buster in the original film. According to some published accounts Murray became quite emotional while sitting in the audience, cheering and even sobbing at some parts.

After Tuesday's performance Murray posed for selfies with audience members and took photos with clearly elated members of the cast.

"Groundhog Day" tells the  story of a self-absorbed weatherman who keeps repeating the same day over and over again in Punxsutawney, Pa. until he gets it right. The comedy is considered by critics to be one of the best in Murray's long career.

Now everyone wants to know...will Murray show up again for a Thursday show?
