The new series – which could be called "Single Serving" — would star the lovely Lakshmi as a woman working in the culinary world.

The show would be executive produced by Charlie Corwin, whose EP credits include "The Philanthropist," "The Rachel Zoe Project," "LA Ink" and "Miami Ink."

She has appeared in the films "Glitter," "Boom" and "The Mistress of Spices." She also played Princess Bithia in ABC's "Ten Commandments" miniseries and played Kaitaama on the 2002 UPN series "Enterprise."

Last week, Lakshmi earned an Emmy nomination (along with "Top Chef" cohort Tom Colicchio) for Best Reality Competition Host.
