Suge Knight Arrested in LA on Traffic Warrant

Rap impresario's latest bust minor compared to past

Rap mogul Marion "Suge" Knight, who has a long arrest record, was arrested on an outstanding traffic warrant as he left an LA restaurant early Saturday.

Knight was stopped by deputies, who ran his name through computers and discovered he was wanted on a minor traffic warrant issued recently in Beverly Hills," said Sgt. Shawn Ruda, spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Knight, 45, was released after agreeing to appear in court within two months.

Knight, the co-founder and former CEO of Death Row Records, has served two stints in prison, including a five-year term for parole violation that  began in 1996. He sold the record label and has filed for bankruptcy amid continuing troubles. Over the last two years, he has feuded with singer Akon, whose handlers allegedly beat Knight severely at a party last year.

Knight, who has a long arrest record, was not doing anything wrong when he was stopped," Ruda said.

“A person who’s been arrested multiple times, you see if he has any outstanding warrants,” Ruda said. “And he did.”
