Kanye West might be hearing wedding bells in Chicago sometime soon.
The Chicago rapper is rumored to be preparing a proposal for girlfriend Kim Kardashian, pending her divorce from Kris Humphries, according to the gossip site, Radar Online.
The 35-year-old celebrity reportedly gave diamond and ruby pieces from his late mother Donda’s jewelry collection to a private jeweler to design a “one-of-a-kind engagement ring,” sources told RadarOnline.
The website reports that West is waiting for the Kardashian-Humphries divorce to end before taking the next step, however, court proceedings aren’t moving quickly and a trial date has not yet been set.
Though court proceedings continue to drag on, RadarOnline sources said that West has finally found “a woman he respects and loves just as much as his mom,” and their relationship continues to progress.
Sources told the web site that if West successfully proposes to the ubiquitous reality-star, he plans to hold the festivities in his hometown of Chicago. Another rumored location is Oklahoma where his mother is buried.
