“Cake Boss” Co-Star Nabbed on Sex Assault Charges

Brother-in-law of star can't make bail

"Cake Boss" co-star Remy Gonzalez, who appears on the hit TLC reality show with his brother-in-law Buddy Valastro, was arrested in New Jersey on sex assault charges.

Gonzalez, a bit player on the show and a "top decorator at Valastro's Hoboken-based Carlo’s City Hall Bake Shop, was arrested on Aug. 18 and is being held on $300,000 bail, a law-enforcement official told The Wrap. He was charged with aggravated sexual assault, criminal sexual assault, criminal sexual contact and endangering the welfare of a child.

Details were not released, but a law-enforcement official told TheWrap that none of the sexual assault charges "had anything to do with the child, but they were in the house."

Remy and wife Lisa, the youngest of the Valastro sisters on the show, have a baby daughter Isabella, who has been featured on the series.

“Cake Boss,” is in its third season on TLC. Gonzalez's bio has been scrubbed from the show's website.

“We support Buddy and the Valastro family during this very difficult and challenging time,” TLC said in a statement released Wednesday afternoon. “The network respects the family’s wish for as much privacy as possible, and as this doesn't involve us, we will not be commenting any further.”
