Rock and roller Bret Michael, who trolled through trailers full of groupies looking for love on a reality TV show, has realized his future wife was there all along.

The Poison singer proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Kristi Gibson, on the finale of his latest TV show, VH1's "Bret Michaels: Life as I Know It."

The blond-tressed singer, who won Donald Trump's "Celebrity Apprentice" earlier this year after battling an assortment of life-threatening maladies, got down on one knee and asked Gibson, his girlfriend of 16 years, to be his wife.

"Please say yes or the rejection will kill me right now," he pleaded.

Gibson obliged, tying a bow around one of rock's oddest relationships. Gibson has stuck by the rocker for years, even while he cavorted with a cavalcade of surgically-enhanced, artificially blonde babes on his "Rock of Love" TV show, whose ostensible purpose was to find him a serious mate.

But the brain hemorrhage he suffered earlier this year, along with news he'll need heart surgery early next year, seems to have changed the 47-year-old performer.

The couple has two daughters together: Raine Elizabeth, 10, and Jorja Bleu, 5.
