Blood Orange's Dev Hynes Claims He Was "Jumped" by Security After Lolla Show

    Following his Friday set at Lollapalooza, Blood Orange’s Dev Hynes claims he and his girlfriend were assaulted by security guards at the festival.

    Hynes, who performed wearing a hand-made T-shirt decrying police brutality and gave a speech on racism, says he was “jumped” by three security guards and his girlfriend was assaulted.

    Hynes said he was “in shock” after the incident.

    “The irony after my T-shirt and message this morning,” he tweeted. “We are in shock.”

    His girlfriend, Samantha Urbani, echoed his statements on Twitter.

    "Insane how nightmare situations can just come in2 action so suddenly. Being assaulted by security & watching them attack Dev- so traumatizing," she tweeted. "Shaking/crying feeling extremely violated & generally unsafe, beyond sad we missed the eminem show we were so psyched 4."

    Lollapalooza issued a statement surrounding the claims.

    “Late Friday night, we learned of an incident involving an artist and a security guard on site. Since then, we have been in contact with those involved and the authorities, as we work together to resolve the situation. As always, our top priority is to ensure the safety of everyone at the festival.”

    Hynes said he “just wants to make music” and thanked his fans for their support.

    “We are hurt,” he tweeted to @Lollapalooza. “We played your festival.”
