Leno, Fallon and Union Talk Chicago Cubs, Mr. Beef on ‘Tonight Show'

Ask Jay Leno and Jimmy Fallon about Chicago food and you’ll most likely hear them talk about Mr. Beef – but ask actress Gabrielle Union and you might get a far more interesting response.

Union, who stars in the upcoming film “Almost Christmas,” appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” alongside Jay Leno and she revealed her favorite part of living in Chicago is the food.

“The food in Chicago, oh my God,” she said. “It’s so good.”

She then goes on to talk about the Cubs and Wrigley Field, but not just because they’re in the World Series.

Instead, she revealed her favorite part of Wrigley Field is “the dessert cart.”

“They have this thing called a rainbow cake,” she said.

Naturally, Fallon and Leno were quick to bring up the famed Mr. Beef restaurant, which Union admitted she hasn’t yet tried.

“There’s all kind of things I want at Mr. Beef but I don’t think it’s food,” she said.

Unfazed, Fallon and Leno continued to talk up the restaurant before Fallon noted that Leno is actually an iconic regular for the chain.

“I walk in and there’s an autographed Jay Leno,” Fallon said. “I walk in and there’s like 100 pictures of you there.”

Leno unabashedly admits he’s frequented the restaurant numerous times.

“It’s a very funny place,” he said. “It’s just a joint. It’s the best beef sandwich.”

That’s when Fallon brought out three sandwiches straight from the eatery itself and the three proceeded to indulge.

“A sandwich flown in from Chicago -- it’s got to be delicious,” Leno said.

It’s not the first time Fallon and Leno have discussed Mr. Beef on the show.

In fact, before Fallon took over for Leno in 2014, the pair also discussed Leno’s legacy prominently displayed at the restaurant.

It still remains to be seen if Fallon will ever have his own wall of beef photos.
