Jim Carrey's Late Girlfriend Was Married When She Died: Coroner

Cathriona White, 30, was found dead in a Los Angeles apartment last Monday at around 8:40 p.m

The former girlfriend of actor Jim Carrey was married to another man at the time of her death, according to Los Angeles County medical examiner officials.

Cathriona White’s body is set to be released to her next of kin, which is listed as her current husband, the Los Angeles Coroner's office confirmed to E! News. The man’s identity has yet to be revealed.

White, 30, was found dead in a Los Angeles apartment last Monday at around 8:40 p.m., assistant chief coroner Ed Winter confirmed to NBC Owned Television Stations.

Her death was reported to authorities as a suicide, Winter said. A drug overdose was suspected because several pills were found near her body, Winter told Reuters.

Carrey and White dated on and off. According to TMZ, White and Carrey, 53, met in 2012 and dated briefly but rekindled their romance in May before splitting up again a week before her death.

"I am shocked and deeply saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona," Carrey said in a statement provided by his publicist. "She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled. My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt."

Carrey has been married twice. In 1987 he wed Comedy Store waitress Melissa Womer; they stayed together for eight years and have a 28-year-old daughter, Jane Erin Carrey. He married Lauren Holly in 1996 but the couple divorced a year later. Carrey was also involved with his "Me Myself and Irene" co-star Renee Zellweger, to whom he was briefly engaged. In 2005 he began a five-year relationship with Jenny McCarthy.
